To the Bone — in progress
The Kapodistrian Orphanage — the former prison in Aegina — remembers.
Concept / Performance: Aliki Germanou, Nikoleta Xenariou
Bodies in action, scattered memories, words and meanings come into alignment in an intimate, deeply felt confession. Common Era continues its creative course with To the Bone, presented as a work in progress — an intermediate point in a journey that was planned to culminate in September at the historic site of the Kapodistrian Orphanage in Aegina, now the former prison.
In the meantime, the need for feedback and meaningful contact with an audience led to an initial presentation at the welcoming Mikro Studio, over two evenings.
This performance engages with the memory of a place and its inscription in the body — down to the bone — while reflecting on experiences of decay, endurance and restoration.
